Sydney Carter wrote a hymn entitled “Lord of the Dance” and the last two verses read: I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black; It’s hard to dance with the devil on your back. They buried my body and they thought I’d gone; But I am the dance and I still go on: They cut me down and I leapt up high, I am the life that’ll never, never die, I’ll live in you if you‘ll live in me; I am the Lord of the Dance, said he:Dance, then, wherever you may be:I am the Lord of the Dance, said he, And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may beAnd I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he. Easter is a time when we Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the promise that death does not have the last word. Jesus’ death and resurrection is God’s great gift of mercy and love for us, His children. Let us rejoice and give thanks that we worship and follow a Risen Savior. This week we will have a number of special worship services. These services help us to remember the suffering and death on the cross of Jesus. We hope you will be a part of these special services May the Lord draw near to each of us to encourage us as we face the struggles of life and the great mystery of death. We have hope in Jesus, the resurrected Lord. Easter is the greatest day in the life of the church. Plan to be present and experience these opportunities for celebration and worship of the Living Lord. Roy Smith shared that Christianity is a religion of the open tomb. Let us remember and claim the words John R. Stott said about the resurrection experience, “Christianity is in its very essence a resurrection religion. The concept of resurrection lies at its heart”. So let us open our hearts and lives to this wonderful celebration on Sunday. Please pray for all our guests and visitors this Sunday. Take a moment and introduce yourself to persons you do not know. Let’s declare “He is Risen”.Pastor Jerry
