Rwandan Coffee
Did you know that even the littlest things in our life can have a huge impact in the life of another person? Did you know that what kind of coffee you buy can either help free someone from poverty or hold them in it's vicious cycle?
This is why we have partnered with Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee to help make an impact in the lives of Rwandan coffee growers and widows of the genocide. For every bag of Rwandan coffee you buy $3 goes back into the Rwandan community. Most coffee growers get about $.40/pound for their coffee. Sometimes this isn't even enough to feed their families. When you buy Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee, however, the growers get about $2/pound! Another dollar contributes to micro-loans which are used to help widows of the genocide defeat the poverty that has held them down.
Yet this coffee does not only raise the standard of living for Rwandan coffee growers, it also helps reconcile the hostilities between the Hutu's and the Tutsi's, the two tribes that were involved in the mid-90's genocide.
