Early Childhood Ministries/ Nursery
Infants, Toddlers & Preschoolers"...From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise...." [Psalms 8:2 NIV]
Mission Statement
To partner with Families in connecting children to Christ.
Our Values
Bible-based, Christ-centered, Life-applicable, Servant-minded, safe, fun, creative, relational and age-appropriate.
Our Promise to Parents
We promise to provide a clean, safe, loving environment for your child to learn and play. Each room will be attended by no less than 2 trained personnel who will care for your child physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Classrooms have age appropriate curriculum where the Word of God is introduced to them through creative means such as music, songs, Bible stories, play, craft activities, and recreation with games. Everything is intentional so children can understand what God has to offer them.

Sometimes children cry when being separated from a parent. Usually within ten minutes, our trained staff is able to calm and engage them in play. If your presence is needed, we will call you using our pager system.
We enforce a well-baby environment for the health of all children and the workers. All toys, surfaces, and floors are cleaned before children arrive. When your child's diaper is changed during class, our staff uses rubber gloves to prevent the spread of germs. All drawers, cabinets, and electrical outlets are child-proofed in every room. We will report any incident or injury to you.
Fairview is also a peanut and nut free zone. Today many children have a life threatening allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. We want all children to feel comfortable to play and learn without fear of an allergic reaction, so we eliminate the threat. We also provide peanut and nut free snacks to the children when they are in our care.
We observe check-in and check-out security. Fairview UMC is a large church and takes the safety of children very seriously. Please follow the procedures to help us continue to maintain a secure environment for young children. Security procedures will be explained at the welcome center window.
Nursery Staff
The Nursery Ministry is staffed by paid managers and servant staff. All workers have been trained, screened with an application and background check. Teen helpers must be in 7th grade, complete our training program, and always have two other workers with them. It takes a mountain of people to care for these precious little ones. If you want to join us please contact Jennifer Walker through the church office or send an e-mail to: walkerl@chartertn.net
Medical Emergencies
We usually have a doctor or nurse "on call" for any medical emergency that might occur. Our paid staff is CPR certified and trained in first aid. Each room is equipped with a first aid kit and evacuation plans.
The children of Fairview are one of our most precious gifts. Providing these children with excellent care is our highest priority. Please help us help you. If you have questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, contact us through the church office or stop by to see the Jennifer Walker (Director of Early Childhood Ministries). You may also send an e-mail to Jennifer at: walkerl@chartertn.net The welcome center window and rooms will open 15 minutes prior to services and meetings begin and will close 15 minutes after the services and meetings end.
