I wanted to share with you that we have been with God's very special folks. The setting here is a lot like places in the third world. There are some who have lots and the majority have little or nothing. The believers are just beyond imagination with their faith. Yesterday we met a pastor who began in 1975 with four church groups and today he has over 77 groups of believers in spite of the opposition of the persons in charge. While we traveled yesterday a major storm hit our area and there has been a lot of flooding.
Tuy Hoa where we were is under water. This morning when we went to breakfast the water was up half way to our knees . As we waited to go to church the rain flooded the road and so we headed back south and the road was almost under water at at times; traffic could only go in one direction at a time. The rivers where out of their banks and so many homes where flooded.
So pray for the folks who have so little and have now lost that. Pray for the believers and that they will continue to share the love of Christ with courage in the face of such opposition. Pray that the authorities will let us into the villages this week.
The children at the church this afternoon were a bit of heaven. Wesley taught them some songs and they sang like angles.
It was a laugh to get to church - our bus flooded out and it took us three hours to get out of the water hole and to dry the motor out enough to get on the road again. All is well here and we have had a wonderful time with the believers, but everywhere we go they ask for your prayers. Let your prayers be heaven ward for them and fill the golden bowls!
