Welcome to The Remedy!

If you are wondering what to expect when you come on Sunday morning, then you came to the right spot. First off, throw out that Sunday best suit and tie or dress (or better yet – give it to someone who can use it to find a job!), because we are pretty casual. Next, stretch out your vocal chords and get ready to worship in the key of rock. Once you’re ready for more, then connect through a service group. Serving together is probably the best way to get to know a group of people as well.

For children from birth through elementary we offer Remedy Kids, an age appropriate worship experience. Our children’s environment is safe, fun, and all around awesome. All of our children’s workers are screened before they begin.

The Remedy experience begins at 11am every Sunday at 2505 Old Niles Ferry, Maryville, TN.

The Remedy began in the Fall of 2008.  Our vision is to Love God, Love Each Other, and Rock This World with the love of Christ.  We began with the burden that church as we tend to think of it has forgotten the generations of the late 70′s, 80′s, and early 90′s and we wanted to do something to connect once again with a culture that has changed drastically over the last half century.  So, any given week you will hear music that is very modern, messages that are practical and about Jesus’ revolutionary call on our lives, and an emphasis on the spiritual and physical needs of our neighbors locally and internationally.  We are also committed to being a community that is culturally and racially diverse, and we hope to see cultural and economic gaps in our community crossed as we work to be the people Christ has called us to be.

Vision

We want to be a dynamic force that loves people who are far from God into a relationship with Him in order to change the world.

Love God

We gather every Sunday to worship God.  Every week there are people working behind the scenes to make sure that Sunday morning is the best it can be.  We strive to have a creative environment where people who are far from God can come to know Him.  We use a plethora of mediums to foster an environment where people can freely fall in love with God.  However, loving God goes far beyond a mere Sunday gathering.  Loving God is something that has to be developed on a daily basis for it to have any significance in our lives. This comes through prayer and obedience.

Rock this World

In the book of Acts the disciples of Jesus start living in a way that was totally counter-cultural and started irritating the powerful people who said that they were ‘turning the world upside down’ (Acts 17).  We hope to live out the love of Christ in such a radical way that this world is shaken from head to toe with the unconditional love that God has poured out on us.  However this cannot remain merely cerebral, but has to be lived out in a way so that hungry children are fed, broken people made whole, diseased people aided with life-saving medicine, and those who are far from God are loved into a relationship with the Creator.

Love Each Other

When we come into a relationship with God we also come into relationship with a whole group of people.  It is our desire to see community fostered in various ways.  Every week there are pockets of people around Blount County that meet in homes to study, pray, play, and of course eat.  We call these groups ‘Life Groups’.  There is always room for new people in our Life Groups and our hope is to see each grow and multiply.
