BUDDY SYSTEM
If it is appropriate for a student, a buddy attends children/youth programs with the child to help facilitate successful participation in ongoing activities or special events.
QUARTERLY RESPITE EVENTS
Do you ever need a break? Our families of children with special needs do too, but often have very few resources for skilled childcare. At least 4 times a year a respite event is planned for those families. These FREE events are open to the Blount County community.
Respite events are typically on Sunday afternoons immediately following church services. Lunch and recreational activities are provided for the special needs students and siblings so parents can have some down time. Fairview volunteers partner with other community volunteers to support this much appreciated program.
